Words are magical things; they can have so many lovely connotations and varied histories.
Words have family trees just like people. They are linked to each other.
Some words are full of flavor and color and describe things you never suspected there were words for.
Words are why we're here.


The meme is simple:
1. Post a comment with your muse's name and canon in the subject line.
2. List any preferences you may have ("no shipping," "no smut," etc.), if you decide to leave the next step up to responders.
3. Responders (or original posters, if they so decide), go to the Other-Wordly blog and hit 'Random' until you get a word. Use the word as a prompt to write up an RP scenario. Do this several times, if you like. Mix and match. Have fun with it!
4. Don't stop with a word, though! Words can often have etymologies that are at odds with their current meanings . Words can shift connotations over time. Let your imagination carry you with the words as its wind.

Sometimes, Jinul felt like the most unfustian Asura in all of Rata Sum. The insecurity would creep up on him during the scant few times he attended academic conferences, and every time he attempted to join a krewe it seemed to weigh him down. His lackadaisical attitude towards his labwork wasn't born from laziness, or even having his head in the clouds- it came from a much more honest, and pathetic, inferiority complex.

Almost in comparison, he found himself realizing Rosi was very...euphuistic. There was a sense of natural poise when most people discussed metalogistics, or biogolemite interfaces, but with Rosids it came from a different place. Where he felt inferior, she had something to prove, and the force of her personality came through even in her attitude towards her vocabulary. Sometimes awe-inspiring, often intimidating, and always extremely attractive.

Early on, he'd thought that their relationship wouldn't work out due to those differences. Communication was such an important aspect of romance, but Asura seemed to use it as a shield to protect and avoid the sociotypical problems other races had; and, the only reason Jinul had that an insight at all was because of his outsider perspective. Charr recklessness, Norn bravado, Human thoughtlessness, and Sylvari naivety were no "different" from Asuran ego. Every species in Tyria handled their problems in strange, illogical ways...but the races still worked together.

If the Pact could take down a dragon, then surely he could achieve concinnity with his mate.
